Projected Path of Typhoon Kristine
According to PAGASA’s latest track, Typhoon Kristine is expected to continue moving west-northwest, towards the West Philippine Sea. The typhoon is anticipated to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by noon tomorrow. However, PAGASA has warned that Typhoon Kristine could potentially re-enter PAR, depending on weather disturbances east of the region.
Additional Weather Disturbances
PAGASA is also monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) that may develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours. As of the latest observation, this LPA was located approximately 2,405 kilometers east of northeastern Mindanao. Should this system intensify into a typhoon and enter the PAR, it will be named “Bagyong Leon.” Another LPA is positioned nearby, but its chances of intensifying into a typhoon remain low at this time.
PAGASA anticipates that this new LPA, expected to enter the PAR over the weekend, could impact the movement of Typhoon Kristine.
Summary and Recommendations
Residents in affected areas are advised to remain vigilant, follow local advisories, and take necessary precautions due to the potential effects of Typhoon Kristine and other developing weather disturbances. For ongoing updates, monitor PAGASA advisories and stay informed on any changes to the typhoon’s path and intensity.
